In late January, I went out to Joshua Tree National Park for several nights with a fellow amateur astronomer, Jerry Day. I decided to try out a new "autoguider" (used to lock the telescope onto a star). These are two of the images I captured those nights. I used a Canon 50D mounted on a 600mm refractor telescope, polar aligned and guided, shot at prime focus for about ten minutes at ISO 800, yielding 12X magnification.

Bill, I've been doing some reading up on the universe (that is an odd statement). I am amazed at your images. What else is out there.
