Greetings from Chicago!
Hey family,
I've been in Chicago for a month now and things are going very smoothly. I moved on from my job at the Cheesecake Factory and found a job at "Mike Ditka's" - a steakhouse owned by former NFL coach and player (da bears!) Although the volume isn't as much as Cheesecake, the menu is more expensive which means overall I should be doing better - so far so good.
As for acting, I had my first audition and actually got into a sketch comedy/improv group here. It's an up and coming group but I feel it will give me an opportunity to perform and hone my craft. All the greats had their starts with smaller companies so this seems to be the first logical step. I'm very excited to be up on my feet again!
The weather has been really muggy lately (high 80's with 60% humidity) but overall it is a beautiful city.
My address is 2756 N. Pine Grove #1112 Chicago, IL, 60614.
Here are some pics I took around the city. The one at the top of the page is the view from my room.
Best wishes to all!
-Alex

Whew!!! you go Alex. I am so excited for you and I know that favor and blessings are with you in everything you do. Skyscrapers... such a change. Don't eat too much red meat (you are from california after all). Saturate yourself in the culture and let us all know vicariously what Chicago chicago is really like. Take care...love, hugs and kisses, Cousin Laura, Darrell, Ashley and Josh
Alex: It appears that you have settled in very comfortably in Chicago. "It's a wonderful town". I know that as a teenager, while attending a prep school in Minneapolis, we drove down to the Chicago "strip" to see the sights. I think they were more than an 18 year old could take. One of our group members got stuck for a then $100 bottle of Champagne - just to have a "lady of the night" sit next to him.
Of course, you are too wise for such folly and spend all your spare time honing acting skills. Good Luck.....Alex. Enjoy the best time of your life. It goes by too quickly!.....Tom
